This book is one of two projects of the North Bay and District Chamber of Commerce commemorating the 50th anniversary of the City Of North Bay in 1975. The other chamber project, the North Bay Dollar, is described on Page6. Nipissing fro brule to booth reflects on the early Indian society and arrival of the district's first white men, the voyageurs, explorers and missionaries. We hop that it will stimulate and encourage its readers to pursue the study of the fascinating history of Canada's past. We are indebted to the author, Dr. Murray Leatherdale, for the countless hours of research and writing which he spent on behalf of the Chamber preparing this book. We also gratefully acknowledge the efforts of Bert Saunders who prepared all the artwork. Any profit realized from this publication will be channelled back into the community by way of the many civic projects of this Chamber of Commerce.
