One of the reasons for writing this book is to do justice to the old native culture; that is to present beliefs and views of these native people as related by themselves. Non-native aythors or religious writers tend to discriminate native culture: that is they say shamanism, known as metawin in Swampy cree is a witchcraft or divination and that is evil. But I present this native shamanism as a psychic power. The difference between witchcraft and psychic poweris how you use this power which is inherent to humans. If you abuse this power then it it becomes witchcraft.Such abuse was committed by by an evil shaman to harass or destroy people. A good shaman used his powers to help or to defend his people. .
